These terms apply to your use of CivicsPath at civicspath.app (marketing website) and study.civicspath.app (study app). By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these terms. We try to keep them readable. If anything is unclear, email hello@civicspath.app.
Who we are
CivicsPath is a study tool operated by Grain of Salt LLC ("we", "us", "Grain of Salt"), based in Thornton, Colorado, USA. CivicsPath is not a law firm or paralegal service. We do not provide legal advice. The information in CivicsPath is for educational purposes only.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure
- One person, one account. Don't share your account with others
- You can delete your account anytime via the study app's Settings page
Subscription and billing
- CivicsPath costs $19.90 USD per month after a 7-day free trial
- The trial begins when you first sign in (with Google or email magic link), not when you visit the marketing site
- We do not collect payment information at trial start. After the trial, you can subscribe via Stripe Checkout — Stripe collects and stores your payment method
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled
- We may change the price with 30 days' notice. Price changes apply at your next renewal, not retroactively
Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel anytime in the study app's Settings page or via Stripe Customer Portal
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you've paid for. You keep access until then
- We do not refund partial months. Use what you paid for, then leave when you're ready
- If something is broken or didn't work as advertised, email hello@civicspath.app and we'll refund the charge
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use CivicsPath to provide legal advice or services to third parties
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy CivicsPath content for redistribution
- Use automated tools to extract questions, answers, or audio
- Share your account credentials with others
- Submit content (in mock interviews or feedback forms) that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.
Our content
The 128 USCIS civics questions and their official answers are in the public domain (sourced from USCIS materials). The civic context, mock interview prompts, audio recordings, blog posts, and software code on CivicsPath are owned by Grain of Salt LLC and licensed to you for personal study use only. You may not redistribute them.
Your content
Anything you submit during a mock interview (your N-400 biographical answers, your spoken responses) belongs to you. We use it only to power your mock interview and improve your readiness score. We do not share it. You can delete it via account deletion.
Disclaimers
CivicsPath is provided "as is." We do not guarantee:
- That you will pass the USCIS civics test or interview
- That CivicsPath will be available 100% of the time
- That the civic context or mock interview answers are complete or error-free
The USCIS test is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. We are not affiliated with USCIS. Always verify test logistics, eligibility, and procedures with USCIS or a qualified immigration attorney.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grain of Salt LLC's total liability for any claim arising from your use of CivicsPath is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll email active subscribers and post a banner on the marketing site for 30 days. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Adams County, Colorado.
